Research Activities:

High-risk infant follow-up, including psychological and neurodevelopmental outcomes for infants born extremely preterm, infants who underwent complex pediatric therapies, and infants exposed to other early risk factors.

Primary Area of Research:

My work with extremely preterm infants has included cognitive outcomes, learning profiles, emotional and behavioural adaptation, and executive function of these children as they approach school age.

I am a member of the Steering Committee for the Canadian Neonatal Follow-up Network, a collaboration of follow-up programs across Canada that facilitates research to identify factors that lead to improved neurodevelopmental outcomes. I am also

involved in a multicenter collaboration of Western Canadian programs that follow children who experienced specific complex life-threatening conditions treated with new technologies. I am interested in the long term psychological outcomes of these early interventions, including intellectual, social, emotional, behavioural and pre-academic indicators.
