History Honours Students Present Thesis Research

Four Department of History Honours students presented their research projects on April 8

On April 8, four UCalgary History Honours students presented the results of their thesis research. From left to right in the photo:

Matthew Mettam's project, entitled “‘Gemütlichkeit Means Good Times:’ The Canadian-German Intercultural Encounter at Lahr, 1967-1994", is supervised by Dr. Petra Dolata.

Katie Qin's project, entitled "Remaking Calgary's Chinatown: Ethnic Leadership and The United Calgary Chinese Association, 1979-89", is supervised by Dr. Nancy Janovicek.

Matthew Bailey's project, titled "Soldier-Written Poetry in the Canadian Trench Newspaper The Listening Post", is supervised by Dr. David Marshall.

Cygnus Wiebe's project on the films produced by the United States Office of War Information during World War II is supervised by Dr. Glenn Wilkinson.

All four students will be graduating this Spring and entering Masters program in the Fall.
