Research Summary
My research focus is in the treatment and health outcomes in children and youth with paediatric rheumatic diseases. A particular area of my research is in the assessment of health-related quality of life in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. I have a specific interest in issues related to the transition of the pediatric rheumatic patient as they move from the pediatric health care systems into the adult care. I have participated in studies using information technology to facilitate self-management skills for youth with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. In addition, I have studied the role of physical activity in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. I have participated in industry clinical trials assessing the safety profile for biologic therapy in juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
