A clinical research unit committed to enhancing research capacity by developing the infrastructure, core capacities, partnerships, and resources needed to expand access to clinical therapeutics and to support research at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
What We Do
The ACH-CTRU is dedicated to building and strengthening the infrastructure that supports clinical therapeutics and research at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. We can provide the resources, expertise, and operational support needed to facilitate high-quality pediatric research across a wide range of disciplines. By enhancing research capacity and fostering collaboration, we help accelerate discoveries that improve the health and well-being of children and families.
How It Works
All our services are offered on a cost-recovery basis. We are dedicated to supporting trials and research activities for all clinicians and researchers, and supporting access to research for all patients, at a reasonable price for high-quality service. Our History
The Clinical Therapeutics and Research unit was formally established in 2024 through a strategic partnership with the University of Calgary’s One Child Every Child under Theme 2, in conjunction with support from the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Development of the ACH-CTRU is an initiative to bolster clinical research activities and ensure access to leading edge therapeutics as part of ACHRI's Child Health and Wellness Strategy.
