The BioCORE supports pediatric translational research at the University of Calgary and the Alberta Children’s Hospital by providing high-quality biobanking and bioanalysis services.
As part of its commitment to rigorous standards and best practices, our BioCORE has achieved CTRNet Biobank Certification, reflecting excellence in quality, governance, and operational procedures.
How It Works
BioCORE provides sample storage, processing, and analysis during regular weekday hours.
Located within the Alberta Children’s Hospital, the BioCORE minimizes transport and processing delays, helping maintain optimal sample integrity.
All services are offered on a cost-recovery basis, ensuring sustainability while supporting research needs.

To establish a research-oriented, Canada-wide biobank and bioanalysis core facility dedicated to the support of pediatric research and clinical therapeutics.
Our goal is to support and generate clinical research insights that ultimately improve pediatric health outcomes.
