Strategic Advisory Board Chair Announcement
The Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute is proud to announce that Randy Findlay will become Chair of the ACHRI Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) starting January 1, 2021.
Randy has been a tireless community leader for decades, actively volunteering for the RESOLVE Campaign to end homelessness in Calgary (co-vice chair), the UBC President’s Campaign Cabinet, the Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary (chair), and Hull Services Foundation. Both Randy and his wife Claudia are long-time champions and generous supporters of children’s health. Randy served on the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation Board from 2002 to 2014, was Board Chair from 2006 to 2009, and co-chaired Major Gifts to raise funds for the ‘new’ Alberta Children’s Hospital. Randy also served on the ACHRI SAB from 2012 to 2014.
He is a professional engineer who retired in 2006 as president, director, and co-founder of Provident Energy Trust, an energy income trust based in Calgary. Randy is board chair of Pembina Pipelines and a director of Superior Plus.
Randy and Claudia were recipients of the Outstanding Lifetime Philanthropist Award in 2019 and currently serve on ACHF’s Patrons’ Council.
“We are thrilled to have Randy’s wisdom and leadership as Chair of SAB as we implement the Child Health and Wellness Strategy and support teams to accelerate research that improves the lives of children and their families,” says Dr. Jon Meddings, MD, Dean, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.
