Professor cited in Supreme Court of Yukon decision
Professor Martin Olszynski was cited in the Supreme Court of Yukon decision on the case R. v. Beets, 2018 YKSC 21.
Martin's paper, Ancient Maxim, Modern Problems: De Minimus, Cumulative Environmental Effects and Risk- Based Regulation”, (2015) 40:2 Queen’s L.J. 705 – 740, was cited, allowing the judge to conclude that the de minimis maxim could be raised as a defence to that strict liability offence.
